Winning bid

Simon Foote Architects are very pleased to announce their appointment by North West Leicestershire Council to redevelop and reinstate up to 40 shop frontages within the Coalville conservation area. The works form part of the Council’s wider regeneration initiatives for the town and will be carried out over the next 3 years, under the Coalville Frontage Improvement Scheme.

The local authority have also allotted the works to be completed under a Local Development Order (LDO) meaning that planning permission isn’t required.

Our portfolio of shop frontage work, carried out through similar heritage focused and funded schemes in Derby, ensured we stood out from the competition and enabled us to secure this project where we will be  both designing and managing the whole process under the LDO.

We are really excited to see the town centre regenerate over the coming years and being part of the team charged with reinvigorating this part of Leicestershire.
