Duffield House – Derby
Set on a large plot in a desirable area of Derby, our clients saw the potential in this formerly unattractive, poorly extended 1950’s home. Simon Foote Architects was commissioned to undertake the design work to remodel and extend the property.
Previous poor quality extensions were replaced with functional contemporary additions. To blend the old with the new, and to create a single coherent dwelling, the whole property was wrapped in an insulated render system with areas of cedar cladding. The heavily glazed rear elevation with large first floor roof terrace optimises the elevated position of the dwelling to take full advantage of the fantastic views towards Little Eaton.
