Simon Foote Architects were appointed to undertake a historic restoration of the shop front of this building in order to comply with local heritage grant funding.
The sympathetic design used elements of historic architecture and photographic evidence that could be found and can still be seen in the Green Lane area.
Extensive replacement joinery work was required, including replacement display windows and new sash windows to the upper floor. A total new roof and chimney stack was also required in order to make the building water tight.
The restoration work undertaken here has spurred many other building owners on Green Lane to explore grant funding for historic reinstatement and we have a number of other projects underway which we will share when completed.
